How to Get a PayPal Debit Card? A Step-by-Step Guide

Having such a useful card at your disposal cannot be over-emphasized.

If you have a personal PayPal account, I’m sorry, you can’t apply for a PayPal debit card. This option is only available for Premier and Business PayPal accounts.

NOTE: Don’t get discouraged, as you can easily upgrade to one of these accounts following the steps below. If you have a business account already, skip this stage to the next stage.

Many people do not know about the premier account. Don’t worry, you’ll get a complete dose of all details relating to PayPal debit card today.

A Premier PayPal account is for those who want to have a high transaction volume or want to accept personal credit card payments. It is a business account but is useful if you don’t officially own a business.

You can only get a Premier account by upgrading to it within your personal PayPal account (when you log in). There is no way you can open a Premier account from the PayPal homepage if you do not log in.

Follow the same steps to upgrade to a Premier account as for upgrading to a business account.

Step 6: Create a password

To keep your account secure, it is advisable to use a combination of all functions (numbers, special characters, lowercase, and uppercase).

Step 7: Personal details

When you create a password, you’ll need to type in your personal details for PayPal to keep track of your identity in future transactions.

Step 8: Link a credit card, debit card, or bank account

Now that your account setup is complete, you can start receiving payment.

But,

You cannot pay for anything until you link your card or bank account.

Choose either your debit card or bank account, or credit card, to attach to your PayPal account.

You’ll be sent an email for verification.

Step 9: Confirm your bank account or debit/credit card

The last step is to confirm your alternate method of payment. If you’ve already linked your bank account to PayPal, PayPal will give you three options for confirming the account. You may or may not need to verify your card.

NOTE:

  • Sometimes you can get an instant confirmation.
  • If you choose a single method of verification for your bank account, you will have a monthly limit on how much you can transfer to your checking account.
  • However, if you use two methods of verification, there won’t be a limit and you can transfer any amount you want per month to your checking account from PayPal.

OTHER NOTE:

  • Daily spending limits

Can PayPal Debit Cards Be Used Internationally?

Do you have WhatsApp or Instagram app on your phone? I hope you agree with me it’s accepted in almost all countries.

You can use the PayPal debit card anywhere Mastercard is available, as long as you have funds in the account.

PayPal Account Limit

Unless your account is unverified, there is not much worry about the limit. Unverified PayPal accounts have a monthly withdrawal limit of $500.

If you have a verified account, there is no limit on the amount of money you can send.

Although you may be limited to $10,000 in a single transaction.

What I mean is if you want to send $30, 000, you might need to do it thrice. That is $10,000 three times.

However, there can be few reasons for your account to be limited. The most common are:

  • An unauthorized user

If PayPal believes someone else is using your account, they might place a limit to protect you from fraudulent charges and scams.

PayPal Debit Card Customer Service

  • For any unauthorized transaction or error, call CUSTOMER SERVICE (402) 935–7733.
  • To speak with a live agent, call 1–888–221–1161, press #, Enter 2 and say speak to their representative

Final Words

We all want ease, security, comfort, and freedom in all we do, not only in spending. Using the PayPal debit card is a more convenient way to enjoy total freedom securely.
